How long does it take to see spider veins vanish after Sclerotherapy? Is there any hope the veins will disappear after more time has gone by?
Some spider veins will disappear immediately and others over the course of several weeks.

It usually requires a few sclerotherapy treatments (spaced 3 weeks apart) for the veins to completely disappear. In my experience, it typically takes an average of 3 treatments for each spider vein.

The short answer is most disappear in 6 to 8 weeks but some may take as long as 8 months.
Understanding the sclerosing process is key tracking your individual results. Basic concepts are 1) sclerosing agent is injected and causes damage to the inside of the vein 2) compression is applied that flushes the blood from the vessel 3) the vessel thromboses (clots) 4) the body absorbs the vein and any remaining blood. This last part depending on the amount of tissue or blood may take a short time or a long time. You may track these changes by looking at the treated area. First the inflamed vein will look red and inflamed. Second the vein thrombosis and looks dark blue, if you press on this you will note that the color will not disappear. As the blood gets resorbed the vein will under go a color change to brown, then lighter colors till it vanishes.
Be patient any vein that you can still push the color out of need further treatment.

Experienced Phlebologists hope to ultimately achieve at least 75% or better resolution of all spider veins. This may require several treatments and as long as one year or more. If there are a few scattered spider veins, these usually can be eliminated within 6 months or less. If there are a lot of blue spider veins, the treatment may take one year or longer to achieve desired results. You should be advised of your expectations at the time of your initial consultation. It is important to remember that it has often taken years for these veins to develop and they will not disappear overnight. Please be patient and allow time for healing to occur.

About 4-6 weeks, about 50-70 % of the injected veins will improve. Little more will improve after this time period.

Generally the veins will be gone if the treatment is effective, in 6-8 weeks. Sometimes, however, pigmentation may linger for months long slowly resolving over time.

It depends somewhat on the treatment technique and how fast an individual patient heals, but generally speaking the thinnest spider veins may disappear fastest, in 2-3 weeks, whereas thicker spider veins or a dense cluster of spider veins may take several more weeks to do so. Many patients may also need one or two additional follow up treatments to get the best results, as each treatment is expected to result in 50-60% improvement, on the average, in most patients.

Usually your veins appear inflamed for about a week and then the veins start to gradually fade. After 5 or 6 weeks, the veins still present will not go away unless they are re-treated. For the average patient, several treatments are necessary.

After sclerotherapy spider veins may take 4 to 6 weeks to resolve. However, sclerotherapy often requires multiple treatments and I usually tell patients that some veins will disappear within several days, some within several weeks and some will need several treatments.

Please schedule an appointment. You can't quantify an answer without looking at the legs. Thanks.
