Visible under eye veins

I have veins below my eyes that are very visible through the skin. Is this type of therapy an option? What would the risks be, and if this is not an option, what treatment do you recommend? It is a hereditary condition I have had all my life.

Prominent blue-green reticular veins often appear on the outer part of the lower eyelid and course along the temple to the forehead. Most of these on the eyelid can be treated by sclerotherapy, as is done for varicose and spider veins on the lower extremities.

You would need to me evaluated by a vascular trained surgeon who specializes in these treatments. This is an advanced training. We do not inject these but use a Cutera 1064 yag laser with good results. It can take several treatments if you are a candidate.

Sclerotherapy can be done for veins around the eye. It should be performed by someone experienced in this. Complications can occur from very simple such as bruising to more severe. You should discuss this with your vein specialist. it is best for the purple veins. Tiny red veins can be treated with the Veinwave.

Facial veins like these are best treated with Micro-Phlebectomy, Vein Gogh or superficial laser therapy. Sclerotherapy should be avoided here. Consult a physician familiar with veins such as a Phlebologist, Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon.

If the veins are very tiny, the preferred treatement would be Veinwave or VeinGogh. These devices deliver pulses of radiofrequency energy to close down the abnormal veins; very safe and effective.
