Why would legs still tingle/burn 10 days after spider vein treatment?

I had sclerotherapy behind knees and above my ankles for cosmetic reasons. Wore compression hose for 7 days. Ten days post-treatment, I have continuous tingling/burning in both lower legs and feet. No obvious signs of clots or redness. I did not have any symptoms prior to treatment. Why is this happening?

Many times, even after sclerotherapy, it can irritate some of the small cutaneous nerves in the area, and that can give you that tingling sensation. If the symptoms get worse, it is always a good idea to go in for a follow-up appointment, and even an ultrasound might be a good idea if you don't have results from a few sessions of cosmetic sclerotherapy.

Your spider veins are in the process of shrinking. The sensation should improve.

It could be related to the product that was used might have used a high concentration and that can create inflammatory changes not only on the veins but if there was leakage there might be inflammation surrounding the tissues.

These are unusual symptoms to continue 10 days post sclerotherapy treatment. It sounds as if you may have either some nerve irritation or a reaction to the solution used. Maybe, even, the stockings have irritated you. I would follow up with your treating physician.

There lays the problem. You only had certain spots on your legs treated. You have to remember that the vein structure in your leg is a network. Proper treatment involves treating the entire network, not just a spot here and there. Since you are obviously having issues at this time, you really need to have your legs properly evaluated with ultrasound to help ascertain what is actually wrong in your legs.
