Thomas M. Kerr MD, FACS
Dr. Kerr is a board-certified vascular surgeon. He attained Board Certification in General Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also earned a certificate of added qualification in Surgical Critical Care Medicine, thus making him one of only a very few local surgeons who attained board certification in three fields at the same time - demonstrating the commitment to advanced training that he is capable of offering.
After completing his undergraduate studies at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, and earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, Dr. Kerr then served his internship and general surgery residency at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Kerr was one of the acclaimed Kachelmacher Memorial Research Fellows, and studied under Dr. John J. Cranley. At that point being involved in multiple speeches, awards and publication involving vascular topics. He completed a fellowship in vascular surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, OH, and furthered his training abroad after being awarded a traveling fellowship from the the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery. This gave him the opportunity to travel to Europe to further his training with world known vascular surgeons.
Kenneth J. Wright, MD
Dr. Ken J. Wright attended Ohio State University and earned a degree in Exercise Science with honors. During his time as an undergraduate, Dr. Wright conducted research on cranial based tumors at Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and was elected as President of Buckeye Advocates for Student Health. Somehow, he also found time to serve as a manager for the Ohio State football team.
Dr. Wright also graduated from Ohio State University College of Medicine, and went on to train in general surgery at SUNY Buffalo. During his time in Buffalo, Dr. Wright participated in vascular surgery research. Dr. Wright returned to Ohio State University to complete a fellowship at the Ross Heart Hospital.
Alberto J. Gonzalez, MD
Dr. Gonzalez is Board Certified in General Surgery and Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery. He is an active member of the Society of Vascular Surgery, the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery, and the Florida Medical Association. Dr. Gonzalez is currently licensed in Florida and Alabama.
In 1997, Dr. Gonzalez earned a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Biology and Political Science from Houston Baptist University. His Medical Doctorate was awarded from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. After graduation he completed his General Surgery training at The University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida and at Baptist Health System in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Gonzalez completed a two-year fellowship in vascular surgery June 30, 2011 at The University of Tennessee at Memphis.
Marlene D. Valentin, MD
Vascular specialist in Tampa Bay, FL, Marlene D. Valentin, MD, is a fellowship-trained vascular surgeon with certification in advanced life support and critical care medicine. Dr. Valentin has implemented over 1,300 techniques in vascular, laparoscopic, plastic, transplant, thoracic, general surgery and critical care areas. Dr. Valentin completed her undergraduate studies at the College of Mount St. Vincent, in Riverdale, NY, and earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey. She served her internship and her residency at Morristown (NJ) Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Valentin was educated in vascular surgery by the fellows at Good Samaritan Hospital (Cincinnati) under the guidance of Dr. Richard Welling. She also accomplished an endovascular super-fellowship through Southern Illinois University, training in cerebral and peripheral endovascular techniques. With such vast experience in surgery, Dr. Valentin’s the doctor to go to if you have vein problems and if you want your vascular surgery performed correctly.
Holly-Ann Kerr, CMSRN, ARNP
Holly Kerr is a Board Certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with over fifteen years of experience. She specializes in all areas of vascular surgery. Ms. Kerr received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of South Florida in 1996. She gained clinical experience in vascular surgical nursing at St Josephs Hospital, while completing her Masters Degree in 2009 at the University of South Florida with honors. Ms. Kerr is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society and The National Scholars Honor Society, as well as a member of The Society of Vascular Nursing and The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Ms. Kerr joined The Vein and Vascular Institute in 2005, with a focus on the management of venous disease. She has had extensive training in sclerotherapy and has performed thousands of procedures. Academically, she has written about various forms of venous sclerotherapy.
