It sounds like you would benefit greatly from a thorough examination by a vein specialist, including an ultrasound exam of the legs. Your varicose veins and probable underlying venous disease may be contributing greatly to your symptoms. I recommend scheduling an appointment as soon as you are able to. Good luck!

Restless legs are a symptom of varicose veins. If you have these symptoms and varicose veins then you should see a vein specialist for a full venous evaluation including a venous duplex ultrasound.

It sounds like you need a vein consultation for advanced vein disease.
There are many minimally invasive treatment options that could be helpful
in treating the underlying causes of your vein disease. An accurate
diagnosis is essential, though , before coming up with a treatment plan.

The legs "giving out" is a difficult one to answer. In regards to the
bleeding veins and restless legs, these are often completely improved after
treatment of the underlying insufficiency or leaky veins. If your legs give
out because of pain or aching, these symptoms may very well be directly
related to your insufficiency if you have serum building up in your skin,
fat and muscles in the legs. If your legs feel better in the morning and
are smaller in size in the morning and your legs feel progressively worse by
the end of the day this pattern of symptoms is also consistent with leaky
veins or venous insufficiency. I would suggest you find a well trained
qualified vein specialist and schedule a consult with them. You should be
asked to wear shorts or be offered a pair of shorts for your exam. Odd as
it may seem, just today 3 of the 15 new patients seen in my practice for the
above symptoms had seen other vein specialists and had never had their "legs
examined" before they were told they did not have a vein problem. All 3 had
severe venous insufficiency on my exam and I am confident ultrasound
evaluation will further define their anatomy and we will have >95% chance of
helping them.

You really should be evaluated by a vascular trained surgeon who is board certified. This will include an ultrasound examination to establish the cause of your problems. Your symptoms of varicose veins with bleeding, restlessness can be indications of underlying venous reflux. The "giving out" of your legs may or may not be related but we often find more unusual symptoms resolve after treatment. All treatments for venous reflux are office based, minimally invasive with little or no downtime. We use laser ablation for refluxing saphenous vein which cause varicose veins.
