Why am I experience pain in my pelvic/vaginal area after a VNUS closure and phlebectomy?

I had a VNUS closure with phlebectomy on my right leg (near the knee and calf region). This was 10 days ago and I am still experiencing low pelvic pain and vaginal discomfort more each day. Why is this happening?

It is difficult to say without an examination, but it sounds like you may have pelvic congestion syndrome. You should see your provider for an evaluation.

The VNUS procedure closed the greater saphenous vein from just below the saphenofemoral junction in the groin to the knee or just below the knee. You may be feeling referred pain from the closed vein at the groin. However, if your symptoms continue, you should have a follow-up ultrasound to make sure that no clot is present in that area. You should follow up with your treating physician.

You should be re-evaluated by your treating physician and an ultrasound should be conducted to ensure you don't have a blood clot.
