As long as the clot is in the superficial veins - it should not cause any issues; in fact it should help your legs feel better. If it is instead in the deeper veins- its usually part of the protocol in treating a pt AFTER being dx with a DVT. After you have been placed on some kind of blood thinner-whether it be heparin, lovenox, coumadin- depending on your Drs discretion- compression hose is usually used as an adjunct therapy with that.
Good luck.

Yes you can sleep in compression stocking if you have blood clots. . Compression stocking mostly give benefit when you are upright however, it doesn't hurt to wear them when you are in bed as long as the are properly fitted.

Typically compression hose can be removed when sleeping and reapplied first thing in the morning. If you are comfortable in them at night, there is no harm in wearing them. I have many older patients who require help with their hose who do sleep in them for several days until someone can assist them in removal and reapplication.

Depends on whether the blood clots are in the veins or the arteries. If they are in arteries, no compression stockings. If they are in the veins, then yes but no stronger than 20-30mmHg of pressure for night time

There is no medical need to wear the compression stocking. When lying down, the pressure in the veins decreases to near normal. Any compression will not give you further benefit.
