How should compression socks be worn to treat pregnancy-related varicose veins? Should I wear them from morning to night? Are they reusable?

I am 25 weeks pregnant. I recently started wearing knee-high compression stockings. My mom had varicose veins during her pregnancy, so I believe it’s hereditary. I am starting to show a bit of varicose veins right under my knees, in both legs. There are also some at the very end of my leg, where it connects to my foot. I exercise twice a week and I work. How should I wear the stockings? If the varicose veins remain after birth, how can I get rid of them?

Knee-length support hose (20-30mmHg pressure) would be fine for you. I would recommend wearing them all day and removing them before sleep. Once you deliver, the varicose veins may resolve spontaneously. If they remain after 3 months, then see a vein surgeon for a full venous evaluation that includes venous duplex ultrasound.

I got knee surgery and have been wearin the socks for 3 weeks with some rests a day. I walk on my leg so blood circulates and crutches help me in public. Is it safe to not wear the stockings at all anymore? I just really don't want a blood clot.

My vascular surgeon did an ultrasound and prescribed endovenous laser ablation. She also suggested that I wear compression stockings after the procedure. However, due to severe psoriasis and eczema on my feet, I cannot wear full-coverage stockings that cover them. They must always be in wet dressings, but cannot be fully covered. Would footless compression stockings be just as effective as full-coverage hose following the procedure?
