I have May thuners and need to consider a birth control plan that is reliable, safe and not an additional risk factor.

In the past I was told to only do 100% hormone free options. Now I am hearing that the mirana has only the pesterone hormone with has yet to prove as a risk factor. Is this true, prestonrne doesnt doesn't have an affect on clots?

There is a small amount of progesterone release by Mirena IUD. However this should not have an effect on blood clotting. We worry about the estrogen hormone for blood clotting.

You may want to consider a consultation with a doctor who specializes in hormone therapy for your best options and coordinate with your other doctors.

My right leg has been swollen for 9 months now. I had rf ablation to close the greater saphenous veins, but my leg is still swollen. I've had all normal ultrasounds and a CT scan that was normal. My new vein Dr. thinks it's May Thurner syndrome. I was on the pill for 25 years. I know it's a rare condition and even more rare in the right leg, but could I have MTS with no blood clots or DVT?

Looking for online treatment consultation regarding May-Thurner syndrome. I'm 27-years old men from Poland, who was recently diagnosed with MTS. I have old DVT in my left leg. I had few veins surgeries in childhood, but not on deep veins. I was diagnosed with MTS last month. Doctors are not sure if stenting veins will not cause complications after few years after surgery. I have a description of CT veins of leg and pelvis.
