The sonograms that show no clotting are a different test than the ones we perform to see if there is abnormal or reverse flow in the vein system. The test you need is a reflux evaluation. This may give information to help answer your question. Also, old stockings need to be replaced because the elastic fails over time.

Your stiffness may be related to swelling, venous insufficiency or other causes. It is difficult to give an accurate assessment through this format. Your next step is to be evaluated venous insufficiency.

Compression socks will help, however, OTC compression typically are not the appropriate pressure and size. Compression should be graduated with at least 20-30 mmhg. You should be measured appropriately for the correct size.
