I had sclerotherapy treatment Nov. 18th and a week and a half later my right leg is painful, burning and feeling numb. What is happening? I also have a swollen ankle.
Return to your doctor for an examination.

You need to see the vein specialist again as you may either developed phlebitis or a DVT. It may also be a simple bruise as well.

Those are not common symptoms after sclerotherapy. I would recommend you discuss them with your doctor to see if he or she can explain what they think is going on.

Your sclerotherapy treatment probably shut down something that it should not have, or you have trapped blood in one of your deeper vessels due to your treatment. In order to find out the cause, you need to have your treated leg evaluated by ultrasound by a vein specialist so that you can see what the true cause is. While undergoing the ultrasound, I would also check to make sure that there is not a DVT (less likely).

That is not a complaint I have ever heard in regards to sclerotherapy. It may be related but could be something else. I would have it checked with your doctor as soon as possible.

I would go see your doctor if the leg is swollen and tender and get an ultrasound. When they did the procedure, they may have irritated a nerve. With pain and swelling, I would recommend an ultrasound

This would be a very ususual result from sclerotherapy treatments (those limited to spider veins and their "feeder" veins). I recommend being evaluated by a vascular surgeon who specializes in vein treatments, including an ultrasound examination. It may not be directly related but a deeper vein clot should be ruled out.

These symptoms are not routine following sclerotherapy. You should follow up with your treating physician. Sclerotherapy does look worse before it looks better, but you should not be experiencing those symptoms.
