Compression Stockings Questions

After hip replacement, I wore thigh high compression stocking on the opposite leg. I woke up with nerve pain on my outer thigh.
Compression Stockings -1 answer
The pain was around the top of the stocking. I removed it and one week later I still have numbness on the outer thigh and it now feels like rubber band hits to my top thigh. Will this resolve on its own? What's the time frame for healing? Can a nerve break or does it just get bruised?

What strength and type of compression stocking should I get for POTS?
Compression Stockings -1 answer
I have POTS-Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. I am a woman, 5'6", 165lbs. I was told to get compression stockings mid-calf to knee. Should it be open toe or closed? I need to know strength and if a particular brand is better. I was told to measure the ankle and calf upon waking. There is a medical supply store I will go to for fitting. Thanks so much!

Compression Stockings -1 answer
I have been told by my MD to wear compression stockings as a preventative measure for dysautonomia. I used compression leggings today and have had terrible cramping in my right foot. Could there be a connection?

My 16 year old wears leg compression sleeves for running. They came down once and bunched up. Is this a reason to evaluate him for a blood clot?
Compression Stockings -1 answer
There may be other times when hte sleeves are bunched up and he didn't notice, I'm assuming. Also he only wears it to run track for school because his legs hurt if he runs without it. There is no pain without the sleeves when he is not running. He only needs sleeves for running. He is 6ft and on the heavy side. Strength is 20-30mmHG.

Should I wear some kind of compression for a long flight after a steroid injection for a bakers cyst?
Compression Stockings -2 answers
I have a ruptured Bakers cyst and will have a steriod injection in November before my long flight to NZ, which I do annually. My knee is causing lots of problems. I always wear flight socks but am concerned as they end where the crease is in my knee. I spoke to my GP and he said don't wear any flight socks. I Have seen compression stockings advertised. I will also wear tight leggings. Is this advisable? Thank you.

Are footless compression socks OK for varicose veins in the thigh region?
Compression Stockings -1 answer
I am pregnant with my third child and I'm just starting my second trimester. I already have varicose veins popping up in my upper legs, and I assume they will continue all the way up my thighs and eventually down, although they weren't very bad in my lower legs last time. My feet have never swelled, so that is not a concern. I see some footless compression socks online that I'd like to try, for a change from my medical-grade full-coverage socks. Any concerns or might this be effective for me?

I have purchased latex free stockings and every brand of expensive stockings. After wearing 1 day, I have 2 days of red itchy skin. What can I do?
Compression Stockings -1 answer
I read that many people have this. I've soaked my legs in moisturizer & coconut oils. I have not tried baby powder, thinking this would dry out my skin. Nothing has helped. I have upcoming varicose vein surgery and fear that I can't wear stockings. This is not an uncommon problem. I didn't have this problem in my 40's but do have it in my 70's.
