I have continuous numbness in my right foot and also varicose veins in both legs. Can I wear compression stockings on both legs?
Compression Stockings -2 answers
I saw a neurologist who labeled the numbness in my foot as peripheral neuropathy. Yet, when speaking with my friend who is also a neurologist, he didn't make much of it and when we did an ultrasound, it was found I have varicose veins. He recommended I wear compression stockings. Not sure if the stockings will make the foot condition worse.

The front of my knee and leg hurts when I sit or lay down after being on my feet for about an hour or more. Why?
Compression Stockings -1 answer
I developed lymphedema after having a groin lymph node dissected due to cancer. My entire leg and foot are affected by lymphedema. I also have varicose veins, too. I wear compression hose for it but the pain I have when I sit or lay down can be unbearable at times. The pain started about 2 months ago.

How should compression socks be worn to treat pregnancy-related varicose veins? Should I wear them from morning to night? Are they reusable?
Compression Stockings -1 answer
I am 25 weeks pregnant. I recently started wearing knee-high compression stockings. My mom had varicose veins during her pregnancy, so I believe it’s hereditary. I am starting to show a bit of varicose veins right under my knees, in both legs. There are also some at the very end of my leg, where it connects to my foot. I exercise twice a week and I work. How should I wear the stockings? If the varicose veins remain after birth, how can I get rid of them?

I'm 80 years old and have knotty veins at the top of my left leg. I don't have any pain. I walk 8,000 steps a day. I bought compression stockings from the same company online to hopefully keep from having further problems. Am I doing more damage wearing them than not? Thank you.

Can under-the-knee compression stockings cause hip muscle pain?
Compression Stockings -1 answer
I wore under-the-knee compression stockings for about a year. I had pain and soreness in my hip muscles, especially the left side, during use. I went through physiotherapy treatment and the pain got better. I decided to stop wearing the stocking for a bit to see how the pain would react, and it is getting better.

Does wearing the same pair of compression socks daily cause them to lose their effectiveness over time?
Compression Stockings -1 answer
I went from receiving 3 pairs of compression socks per month to one. I think one pair per month is unsatisfactory. I am disabled and had an open ulcer on my right shin for two years before a specialist prescribed compression socks. I had venous insufficiency, but it has now cleared up due to wearing these socks. I'm worried ulcers will return if I have to wear the same pair of socks every month. Wearing the same pairs day after day will mean that they will soon lose their effectiveness.

Is it normal for compression socks to cause my calf, thighs, buttocks and lower back to hurt, tighten up, and be very sore?
Compression Stockings -1 answer
I had surgery, so they gave me compression socks. The socks made my calf, thighs, buttocks and lower back sore and tight. After 5 days of wearing them, I took them off to wash them. Now that they are back on, the pain, soreness, and tightness are worse than before. Is this normal?

I have cellulitis in my left leg and am currently taking medication to treat it. Is it OK to wear compression socks to help with the edema? I have no other issues with my legs. I have worn compression socks in the past, but I'm wondering if they would help heal the cellulitis faster by promoting blood flow and reducing the edema.

Why does my leg itch severely after removing compression socks?
Compression Stockings -2 answers
I’m a nurse on my feet 16 hours some days. The swelling 16 weeks post-ORIF surgery has been my worst enemy. The compression socks have been a real lifesaver, but the itching after removing the sock from the injured leg is terrible. The other leg doesn’t itch at all after removing the sock. Why is that? How can I relieve the itching?

My compression stockings were way too tight around my calf. Now I have throbbing pain and numbness. Is this a DVT? Bakers cyst?
Compression Stockings -1 answer
I'm an RN. Two nights ago my compression stockings (Dr. Schools knee-high) were way too tight around the calf. I have throbbing calf pain when I get up to walk, when I stand, and when I elevate my leg. I'm limping. My legs are typically swollen but the right is so sore and numb when elevated. No warmth or redness. Ibuprofen 800mg and Alleve no relief. Is this a DVT? Bakers cyst? Has not improved since onset, which was within 2 hours of application. Leg is not discolored. Obese, FM hx DVT
