Compression socks seem to make my legs restless and achy. What can I do? I'm 5 days into using them.

My compression socks are custom made from Germany. They make my legs restless and knees hurt. I passed my test on putting them on and taking them off. They felt good the first day, but the 5th day they feel very bad.

I would recommend getting a different pair of support hose. Also the stockings may be too tight. 20-30mmHg compression is enough for most people unless you have significant edema or chronic venous insufficiency. See a vein specialist for an evaluation of your venous status and they can recommend the appropriate stocking.

My vascular surgeon did an ultrasound and prescribed endovenous laser ablation. She also suggested that I wear compression stockings after the procedure. However, due to severe psoriasis and eczema on my feet, I cannot wear full-coverage stockings that cover them. They must always be in wet dressings, but cannot be fully covered. Would footless compression stockings be just as effective as full-coverage hose following the procedure?
