Launched in 2008 with the goal of helping physicians delivering venous treatments to better serve their patients and grow their practices, Vein Magazine offers readers useful news and insights from leaders in this unique area of medical practice. Published two times a year and delivered for FREE directly to physicians’ homes and offices and through national educational meetings, Vein Magazine provides extensive coverage of new technologies, products, treatment options and more, and is distributed nationwide to physicians in diverse areas of medicine.

Medical Director

Ariel Soffer, MD, FACC

Dr. Soffer is a board-certified cardiovascular specialist, author, medical patent holder, and medical journalist. He has dedicated the last 15 years of his clinical practice to advancing the knowledge and treatment of venous circulation disorders at the Soffer Health Institute (a successful group of private practices in South Florida).

Dr. Soffer lectures internationally on a variety of circulatory issues. Notably, he heads the Venous Forum at the annual New Cardiovascular Horizons (NCVH) conference in New Orleans. He has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, published two medical books, and made countless local and national media appearances (including a weekly ABC News segment entitled “Dr. Soffer’s Second Opinion”).

As a product innovator, Dr. Soffer is co-founder of USA Therm, Inc. Its sentinel product, ThermPix ™, is a cutting-edge platform medical device that uses thermography to find venous insufficiency.

Dr. Soffer graduated with distinction from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center/UCLA. He completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology at the University of Southern California and Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.

Dr. Steve Elias brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience in all areas of venous disease treatment and the practice Phlebology to physicians entering the field and long-time colleagues alike. Dr Elias is currently director for the Center for Vein Disease at the Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in Englewood, NJ and director for the Center for Vein Disease at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Always looking to advance the specialty, Dr. Elias is an active member of the American College of Phlebology, American Venous Forum, the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery and the International Society of Cardiovascular Surgery, devoting much of his time to and efforts to curriculum and training.

Dr. Elias has been the recipient of numerous honors, including the Dardik Research and Education Award, the Fellows Course Education Award, VEIN Magazine’s Top 25 Most Influential Venous Professionals and back-to-back nods as New York Magazine’s “Best Doctors” List in 2009 and 2010 as “Best Vascular Surgery.”
