Michale C. Dalsing, MD

Michael C. Dalsing, MD, is the director of Vascular Surgery at the IU School of Medicine. He became the first head in 1987 with its creation as a Division of Surgery. He is also the first E. Dale and Susan E. Habegger Professor of Surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine, a professorship initiated in 2004. He is currently a Professor Emeritus of Surgery within the Division of Vascular Surgery. Dr. Dalsing joined the IU School of Medicine faculty as an assistant professor in 1984 and achieved to full professor status in 1994. He obtained AOA recognition in 1988. Dr. Dalsing initiated the IU School of Medicine Independent Vascular Surgery Training Program in 2000 and the Integrated Vascular Surgery Training Program in 2008. He is the current medical director of the IU Health Non-invasive Vascular Laboratory, which has been accredited since 1993 under his direction.Dr. Dalsing has a long and distinguished career in academic medicine. In addition to serving in leadership roles for varoius professional organizations, he has given over 200 medical presentations across the globe, including Japan, Australia, South America and Europe. He has also published more than 130 peer-reviewed journal articles, written over 35 book chapters, and reviews for most major vascular surgery journals with tenures on various editorial boards.
